[Metaphysical Mind] On the power and integrity of your Higher Power

Dear ULC,

The topic of today's Metaphysical Mind is one that I have recently begun to understand.

In the past I have thought of myself as my own Higher Power but now I am finally learning that God is a power much greater than myself.

Now when I am struggling or facing a difficult situation (usually due to a selfish desire for a positive outcome for me), I do my best to let go absolutely and turn the challenge over to my Higher Power.

This takes great trust, but who can I trust more than my Creator?

Hope you enjoy today's article:

Trust in the Power and Integrity of the Creator by Bill Bowles

Human-kind is generally concerned only with the material things of life. That is, all that has a direct effect on the comfort and well being of the individual. To ask someone if he or she believes in, or has experienced, some form of spiritual existence parallel to or perhaps preceding or succeeding the familiar material world would, in all probability, result in at best a vague acknowledgement coupled with a swift retreat into the world of the senses. 'That which I can SEE, HEAR, TASTE, SMELL or FEEL, this I understand for it is part of my every-day life. If these things cease, then surely I also cease.'

Any belief to the contrary, outside of, and even within the major religious groups, is held to be something which belongs to the realms of cranks and the unbalanced or even the insane. Yet recent work in the fields of Quantum and Metaphysics is laying before the NORMAL world, indisputable proof, which has for so long, been regarded as fantasy or the work of a disturbed mind, but must now be given credence amongst the findings of the scientific world.

Recognition and acceptance of various field theories are things which can no longer be ignored and must now become part of LIFE. Is there something in addition to and beyond just the five senses with which we are all so familiar?

The answer must be a resounding "YES!"

The ancient Sanskrit writings describe a 'primary substance' called Akasha which is said to be of microscopic fineness and exquisite delicacy.

That out of which Everything is Formed

It is not limited or confined in any way and is everywhere present. It is sensitive to the slightest vibration, physical or electro-magnetic, anywhere in the universe.

Let us examine and try to define this 'primary substance'. It is said to be without limitation and also to be everywhere present. This must mean it could be likened to an all pervading invisible mist. It is possessed of exquisite delicacy, which would indicate a benevolent sensitivity. It is of such a nature as to be sensitive to, or aware of, the slightest vibration anywhere. It is that out of which everything is formed. Bearing all this in mind one must also assume that 'Primary' indicates original or first, before all else and 'Substance' some form of, in this case, matter (energy) of immeasurable fineness.

We have then, something that reacts to and also registers any energy input anywhere at any time. We also find that the information registered during these energy vibrations is stored and is retrievable. Our thoughts and actions, in fact the actions of anything within this field of awareness from a rock lying on the ground to the most sophisticated examples of life, must be constituent parts of this primary substance. It is everywhere present, therefore must encompass all matter within its scope.

Surely then, this 'Akasha' can be referred to as a universal consciousness or mind.

The source of all that exists and therefore the source of all creation.

Thus we have an unchanging absolute in which we can place our confidence and trust. Something that has always existed, always will exist, out of which everything is formed and embraces all knowledge and wisdom.

The Creator

In Whom I Place My Trust

On service to others before the self

Thank you for tuning in to this issue of Metaphysical Mind written by Bill Bowles (BB).
Among the many ideas Bill has shared with me, none stand out more than the rejection of human greed and the principle of service to others before self.
In case you missed the last issue of this Ezine, read it here: http://www.whatismetaphysics.com/bill-bowles-ezine-1-of-3.html
In one of the articles he shared with me, he wrote: "I wonder why the youth almost universally reject the opinions of the 'old folk'. Then they rush off and make the same mistakes that have been made so many times before." This question spoke to me personally so I decided to answer it as best as I could here.
In my opinion, the reason why is basically human nature or a lack of connection to God. It is out of selfishness that we are so prone to disregard the teachings of others and to learn from our own experience, however costly it may be. Heck, many of us (myself included) even try to resist the will of our Creator.
To the young people, we must try to understand our elders rather than to be understood by them.
Just a Thought by Bill Bowles
Reading in the first chapter of the book of Genesis in the Christian Bible (the story of the creation of the earth and its living inhabitants); one wonders if it would not have been better if creation had stopped after the fourth day. Once animal life and men and women appeared on the scene they have done little else but destroy what was originally perfection.
Perhaps there is a lesson to be learnt here.
Some principle that our societies could embrace that would ultimately lead to a perfect solution to the plethora of problems that we experience today.
It is a frightening thought that we, as the controlling inhabitants of this world, are responsible, either wholly or partially, for everything that is wrong with our current circumstances. If we spend a little time in examining the motives that have propelled us into this situation, we find that greed is almost exclusively responsible. The desire to possess or in some way acquire something to which we had no right in the first place.
Immediately the solution presents itself.
Place the desires and needs of another before the desires and needs of self.
Is the solution to the multiplicity of social problems of today so simple? If we place the needs of our neighbour before those we see as our own then there will be no place for greed. If greed is overcome there is no longer any necessity to destroy the equanimity of others by trying to take from them what is rightfully theirs and not ours.
All of creation was and is the ultimate act of giving. A beautiful gift, as is indeed life itself and all we can do is damage and destroy. Let's change that and establish giving as our lifestyle instead of taking.
There comes a time in the lives of all people when we are faced with making a crucial decision and are at a loss as to what would be the correct action in the circumstances that face us. It is well at such times, to take a little longer and to consider who else may be affected and how. The old maxim "act in haste and repent at leisure" is a truth more often than not.
Once again we find that placing the desires and needs of others before our own usually points us to the solution we are seeking.
--BB

And now a poem titled "Where Are We Going?"
Sometimes when travelling in a group,
Being led by one who is astute,
It will be heard from those who follow,
"Where are we going in this rush?
Where is it that you're taking us?"
Then if there's no clear destination,
Just mumbled word and deviation,
Then we must ask again quite clearly,
"Where is it that you're taking us?
We need to know if we're to trust
The words you speak and path you take.
Confusion now's a grave mistake-
If you can't tell us plainly, friend,
Then trusting you as guide must end.
There should be purpose in this chase,
To reach that holy long-sought place
And there to find the great reward,
Promised' us by The Lord."
The moral of this little tale?
Don't let foolish words prevail
Upon good sense and leadership,
When seeking your discipleship.
--BB

Little Children vs. Our Greed
When one looks at the wonder, innocence and trust that shine out of a child's eyes then we, having seen and meditated on this, must wonder at the validity of knowledge and progress. Why is it that as we grow older we seek to possess everything that we see? The first question that we learn to ask as children is, will what we see fulfil our needs and desires. If the answer is yes, then we seek to acquire what we see or in some way duplicate what is seen thereby availing ourselves of the benefit enjoyed by the current owner or possessor.
Greed must be the ugliest word in any language. It speaks of the desire to acquire or possess more than is rightfully ours, more than we need for our comfort and wellbeing. If we can find a way of eradicating this word and all its connotations from our understanding then surely we will have found a solution to the great majority of the social ills that beset humanity.
So many times we return to the same solution of this problem found in the world of man. Place the needs of another before those that you see as your own.
As we grow in knowledge and capability we create more and greater innovations in the name of progress, then we see more and because we see more we desire more. Has progress created monsters out of men and women? Beings that, because they see, they must possess what they see?
If we do not progress in knowledge and capability we will regress and eventually become extinct: OR SO WE ARE TOLD. Then men devise great schemes to feed and clothe the needy: to build sufficient housing and to care for the destitute, the sick and the disabled. If we look back at the root causes of these conditions we find that there is a common factor. Greed!
To get back to our wondering and innocent child. If that child is not hungry, is clothed and has care and shelter, then there is no complaint.
Let's make this our first and greatest ambition; to build a society where the tears of a cold and hungry child are never seen.
Let's try thinking of the needs of our neighbour BEFORE we think of ourselves!!
Then let's teach others to do the same.
--BB

Be Well,
Jason

Dr. Spirituality lesson 14 from Monnie

Good morning Amy,
Here is my response to lesson 14 Healing Depression

We were to do a smiling meditation 10 minutes twice a day and report on our experiences.

I found it difficult to smile for 10 minutes twice a day during a meditation. I regularly do a breathing meditation in the morning.  With my clients I help them do the following meditation , "Breathing in I calm my body, breathing out I smile."  I find this helpful, as do my clients. I do a different meditation at night on a regular basis.  While I appreciate the helpful hints in terms of conquering negative thinking and in having an attitude of gratitude and finding joy in life I do not believe these things conquer deep depression. I believe these tips are helpful for everyone and they do have a positive impact I do not think they "heal depression."

Depression is a medical imbalance in the body.  No matter how much I laugh (and I laugh a lot during each day) and no matter how grateful I am (and I do have an attitude of gratitude, and no matter how much I pray (I pray regularly throughout the day) and no matter how much medication I take ( take a depression medication) I still experience depression.  This condition runs in my family.  I see myself as a basically happy person who enjoys life and my friends and colleagues see me in this light also. So in conclusion while I liked the sentiment of this lesson, and while I think the lesson is helpful in combating "the blues", I do not think it "heals depression."

It does however improve one's quality of life. Monnie

Master of Metaphysics - Spirit Quest Final Essay

Master of Metaphysics - Spirit Quest Final Essay

This course has been informative, enlightening, and enjoyable. Each week I have eagerly awaited the next discourse to arrive in my email inbox. Aside from getting it over with as a developmental phase, I'm actually disappointed that the course is over.

The style of writing Reverend Long uses is very down home, friendly, and unpretentious. She's candid about her own, personal experiences regarding the subject matter. The tone and personality of each discourse was what I would expect from a sister or cousin writing a letter to me, not what I would expect from an academic series of lessons.

No mumbo - jumbo. No 'Doctor Peabody and Swami McGillicutty say ...' It's just Rev. Amy Long, in a voice that could be coming from next door, telling what she knows to be true, actual, and factual. Easy to read, easy to understand, easy to follow, presented in a logical sequence, I recommend this to those wishing to learn the practical side of Metaphysics.

The first two or three discourses tended to offer fairly standard concepts and techniques in Psychology. I thought initially that the course had either been mislabeled, or misrepresented. Then the discourses seem to have digressed into very silly exercises ... that actually work like a charm once a person sits down and does them.

I  actually had problems forming the visualizations. I still do to some extent. I can not completely visualize, I can not fully see my grounding cord going all the way to the center of the Earth in my minds eye.

I cannot seem to visualize roses either, but I have little problem visualizing the roses as balloons. The only exception is that I can visualize my protection rose as a rose. Also, instead of it being out in front of me, I am in the center of it.

With the protection rose out in front of me, negative energy was able to get to me. Worse, I was able to generate negative energy myself ... and both external and internal negative energy would have a feeding frenzy every so often. Surrounded by my protection rose, which is clear, and set to attract, neutralize, and dispose of negative energy from any source, I now find the technique phenomenally effective.

These variances in practice do not seem to matter. I have had some quite phenomenal results.

I begin sending out greeting roses -  balloons to people. I am incredibly girl shy. Some of these greeting roses -  balloons were too young women I would like to have other than a passing - by non - relationship type relationships with.

Amazingly, with each young woman to whom I sent a greeting rose - balloon, there now exists at least a friendly relationship where no relationship at all had existed before. I have been in close proximity to each of these young ladies for quite a while.

With one young woman in particular, there now is exists a frustrated relationship, as each of us is incredibly shy of each other's gender, and neither of us is exactly sure how to proceed with the other.

The techniques prescribed in this course have otherwise given me tools for more objective thinking, and better stress management. This course is well worth the time and effort it takes to complete, and is worth many times over what the course cost.

Spirit Quest Final Essay

SPIRIT QUEST
By Rev Naunie Maddox

Spirit Quest was and still is an on going learning journey for me.  There are countless ways in which to use the Spirit Quest information.  This has been an invaluable course for me.

I now find myself grounding myself several times a day. Destroying and recreating grounding cords. I experiment with what they look like and what size they, all the way down to what they look like.  Being grounded has been (past tense) a huge issue for me.  My whole life I have struggled with it.  It comes natural now and my life has improved in many ways.

I even ground my home, job, bank account, and my relationships.  It's wonderful energetic house cleaning.  Being highly empathic, knowing and feeling everyone's thoughts and feelings around me became confusing. Not knowing what was mine and what belonged to someone else can be overwhelming.  I have had to isolate myself from large groups, crowds, public places, and to a large extent isolate myself from friends and family.  With the tools to purge from me what is Not mine has helped immensely.  I am getting out more often and my income has improved.

I am grateful for the tools to ground male and female energy. Wow, I had no clue that could be done.

The roses are awesome.  It really energetically changes situations, thoughts, and feelings in a positive manner.  Not to mention becoming present and having easy tools to utilize for staying present and grounded is fantastic.

The Golden Sun is an essential in my life now.  I have in the past known about clearing energy but that creates a void or a vacuum.  Filling up my energy with my Golden Sun is a great way to really keep my energy clean and gave me the tools to manifest much more in my life and increase my personal power.  I filled up me and that helps with clarity.

I enjoyed the information on communicating with spirit and the many ways spirit communicates.  I am a much more effective channel for spirit now and the "rose lie detector" as I call it is helpful tool.

I had no clue about baby spirits.  That was new information for me.  I have had similar experiences without ever knowing what I was dealing with.  I had been a few days pregnant actually several times and I could feel it. I would end up having a bad feeling about it and just clear my energy of what does not serve my highest and greatest good and the pregnancies would then terminate.  I am glad to know about them now.  Thank you!!!

I have learned a lot about my own soul and my incarnations through this course.  I have gained much clarity and understanding.

My journey through this course has been enjoyable and quite a learning experience.  I have been able to change my thought patterns and open my consciousness much more.

Blessings and Thank you

Spirit Quest Essay

A year ago I became very ill and I also developed narcolepsy. I had to make rapid changes in my life, resign from my job as a crisis nurse, and I was going to have to stop driving. My ex-husband and I had been friends for years. He extended an invitation for me to relocate from Virginia back to Minnesota and to house share with him. So I chose this option.

I left a career, a cottage that I had redone, friends, the ocean, mountains and so much more, so there were a lot of losses. No longer being able to drive was also a life changing event and a huge loss.

On the positive side, I was able to activate my retirement, I would be closer to my sons and grandchildren, and, I was going to be given a lot of time to pursue some things I had not had time for earlier in my life.

I had conversations with Amy Long regarding the seminary program and what courses to take. Finally I decided one of the courses would be Spirit Quest. I was going through losses, changes, and it would be a wonderful time to explore different coping methods, to further explore my own spiritual journey, and to also sort out old wounds, traumas, and or dysfunctional behaviors I had created a long this life journey. Since I was no longer going to be able to do many things I had done for so long, it was great time to set new goals based on the many changes and to explore what options I would now have to work with.

I had not realized how deeply the Spirit Quest Course would take me, how deeply I would journey to the past traumas of my life. I had not realized how I would learn to see how those traumas and the dysfunctional coping behaviors I had created were the dark shadows and the demons of my nightmares or how I would learn the new tools taught in this course in how to release what was no longer serving me or my spiritual journey.

One part of this course teaches how to use roses, how to create the image of a rose in our mind, then how to put an unwanted thought, memory, experience, negative energy, negativity that someone else was sending at me, and more, into that rose. Then you blow up the rose. The course also taught how to create grounding cords, which connect one with the earth, which can bring the grounding, healing, constant connection to our earth mother and all the strength and nurturing this will bring. We are also taught how to bring in the golden light from the sun into our space and energy.

These tools become the vehicle that a person can use to travel down those "memory lanes" of trauma, exploring the wounds, the traumas, hurts, or what ever dysfunction that a person may have on that journey. Soon the method becomes easier and easier to use.

As I traveled this path and used the roses, I began to notice how much more quickly I was able to really identify problems, how I was no longer afraid to see them, and how when I did find them, I could then make a choice what I wanted to do with that specific problem. Often that problem would go into a rose and I would explode the rose. I stayed grounded, then brought in the sun and light to heal that energy space, my heart, my child, my mind and emotions and most important, my spirit and or my relationship with my spirit.

As I journeyed these past 8 months through this course, I was also beginning to see how what I was learning affected my relationships and or challenges in the present in increasingly healthy ways. The more of the old dysfunctional behaviors and ways of reacting were being released, the less I needed to be reactive to what some one else was doing or saying, or with their behavior. My objectivity was increasing.

I was also losing the triggers that had been so much a part of my life. So often some thing would trigger a memory, a reaction, an emotion, and these things and their patterns were deeply ingrained in my life. In doing the releasing, the triggers were disappearing as well. Or if I was triggered, I could pop the event that had triggered me into a rose and then take the time to explore the event, then blow up the rose, and bring in the healing light and, of course, I would have stayed grounded with the grounding cord during all of this.

As all of this was occurring, I soon discovered how much easier it was becoming to remain calm when some one else was acting out or sending negativity my way. I was finding I had better sight and better protection, which increased my objectivity with that person or event. What I was learning helped me have clear and more rational thought, and an increased ability to not react, rather, to take the moment to explore what was really going on with that person. Often what was going on had nothing to do with me, other then I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and that person was looking for some thing to dump their anger or frustration on.

So it was becoming easier not to own the other person's reaction, not to react to their behavior, and it became easier to allow them the right to own their problem and reaction. With this skill increasing, it also became easier to, if I chose to do this, assist the person with calming, exploring what their real problem was, and then helping them explore options they could use to manage their problem in a more positive and healthy way.

In these past 8 months additional skills continued to build on the new skills I had been learning. Boundaries were also affected, the ability to create healthier boundaries, the ability to calmly set healthier boundaries, the ability to more clearly state my own needs and what was comfortable for me was increasing.

On the opposite side of this, was growing comfort in knowing the gift of compromise, of more calmly being able to see the other person's point of view or their needs. One example of this is my ex-husband likes more open spaces and does not like clutter. I loved clutter, had lots of collectables, books, art, etc. and had always had these things out about where I could see them.

This was a point of friction between my ex-husband and I in the beginning. Finally one day, I was able to really step into his shoes, understand his perspective, and then I was able to more clearly honor and respect his needs. I chose then to really de-clutter and to really make choices about what I could and needed to release from my life. I got rid of clothes, paintings, art work, books, and so much more. I took time with my things, my collectables, tried to find homes for things that I knew other people might need. I said goodby to so many things.

When it was all over, I discovered how much freer I felt, how it seemed a huge burden had been lifted off of me and how the tremendous chaos piece of my life was being diminished.

There is so much more to this course that I have not even touched on. I would encourage any one that is facing change, or facing the need to change, to explore this course and the many gifts and tools it brings.

At the end of these 8 months, there has been so much clearing on every level of my emotions, memory, spiritual, and even with the things in my physical environment. Clutter on any level comes between us and our Spirit, our Spirits, and the Creator.

The name "Spirit Quest" implies we are going on a search for our Spirit. Before I could go on a search, the course had me getting rid of things. I finally realized that all of those things had been blocking my view and connection with my Spirit. I did not need to go any further to search for my Spirit..........I just need to get rid of stuff.

I wish to thank Amy Long for creating this course and her willingness to share so much of herself, her own journey, and her life. This course has been a wonderful gift to me, my life, my Spirit, and, to those that are in my life and love me. Not only is it easier for me to be with them, it is now much easier for them to be with me.

Thank you for allowing me to share this with you.

Metaphysics Course

As individuals we exist at a dual interface between non-local and local reality. Nonlocal reality exists within the empty spaces between your cells; local reality results from the perception of physical forms.

Non-local reality, which is essentially nothing, is the Source of all creation (including physical reality). Remember, emptiness must exist to allow the space required for creation to arise. Obviously, this non-local reality, if it even exists, is much harder to dissect and study than the material world. Therefore, for the most part, it has been ignored by science.

Scientific thinking is concerned with the physical creation, or the local—material—side to reality. On the other hand, meditation is fundamentally concerned with the Creator or the nonlocal—internal—processes underlying physical reality.

Meditation is the only practice I know of that provides access to the non-local side to reality. By going deep within oneself, on a regular basis, it is possible to learn how to interact with immaterial forms of knowingness.

Meditation is a powerful tool for divination and for strengthening one's intuition. Intuition can be explained as a manifestation of the nonlocal awareness encompassing or interconnecting material reality. As you connect deeper with your Source, your intuition strengthens.
Meditation is a simple practice through which you can work your metaphysical muscles each day.
Here are three highly-recommended, science-based articles which promote meditation as a tool for personal transformation:
1. Even Beginners can Curb Pain with Meditation
2. Meditation Neuroimaging Study: Eight Weeks to a Better Brain
3. Why teens addict: The elusive search for happiness
I really hope you make time to read these informative writings, and please feel encouraged to pass these on to your loved ones.
Meditation must become (or remain) an integral part of your life if you wish to discover the meaning behind spirituality.
Soar with the Divine!

Jason

Metaphysics Course - What Can I Do Now

Today's lesson is: "What Should/ Can I Do Now"

Congratulations on reaching Day 7! Throughout this powerful E-Course you should have learned:

  • Metaphysics is the philosophical study of being and knowing.

  • Spirituality is the process of becoming, knowing, or coming closer to God

  • Quantum physics is the leading edge science that is scientifically proving timeless metaphysical principles. Quantum physics is the "physics of possibilities".

  • Metaphysics will allow you to experience health, wealth, happiness, peace of mind, and unconditional love for yourself and others. Metaphysics will develop your belief system to a point where it becomes unbreakable and totally supportive in tough times.

  • Metaphysics is mainly composed of natural philosophy, ontology, philosophy of religion, philosophy of mind, and philosophy of perception.

  • The purpose of metaphysics is to compliment your current beliefs, and expand the limits of your limiting beliefs.

  • You are the God you search for.

  • ESP abilities are natural

  • You are a part of nature, nature is a part of you. We are all interconnected.

  • There are only three truisms to reality: You create your reality, You are a piece of the One, You cannot fail. Everything else is illusionary.

  • Reality is a subjective perception of surroundings

  • The understanding of metaphysics will absolutely lead you to health, wealth, and happiness

  • Your reality is a reflection of your beliefs

  • These are the basic things we have covered in this course, for more information on any of these things; look back to the previous day (they were covered in). Now that you have learned these things, you need to figure out what resonates with you.

If what I've said resonates with you, keep going on this path. If nothing I have said resonates with you, then I express gratitude towards you for your time, but please do not feel obligated to continue on this path. Let go of this and try something else. Maybe you will come back to my website, or maybe we will never communicate again. Remember, the choice is always yours.

Thank you for allowing me to share in this wonderful learning experience with you. If you have any question or comments please feel encouraged to Contact me . If you enjoyed this course please tell your friend about it, you can do so, by sending them this link www.whatismetaphysics.com/freemetaphysicsinformationpackage.html

If most of what I have said resonates with you, you can continue your metaphysical journey by reading the tons of articles I have set up on my website. All of these articles have either been written by me or were handpicked by me personally. I will be adding more regularly, and I will usually send these articles to my subscribers when I do this. If you have not subscribed to the newsletter (you were sent this email from a friend). You can do so here.

My newsletter/ Ezine "Metaphysical Mind" will keep you informed and on the right path. If you have subscribed, and you haven't gotten your first issue yet, make sure you check your junk mail folder, and you add this email : Metaphysical_Mind@whatismetaphysics to your safe list. If you do this, keep a look out, because your issue should be arriving soon as a new issue is sent twice a month.

If you need more information/ knowledge you should check out my recommended resources (if the link does not work, you can copy and paste it into your browser). But as you do this, never forget you will not find the answer you are looking for in some CD, book, or course. You will only find the answer within yourself. These resources are just to inform, help, and support you in doing this.

I hope you have found this journey to be more of a new beginning than an end. On this path, may you discover that the answer you search for was always within yourself. I am looking forward to meeting you when our paths cross. Till then may you enjoy infinite love and happiness.

    Thank-You,

    Jason Randhawa

    Metaphysics Course

    Hello ULC,

Welcome to Day 6 of the "What Is Metaphysics" E-Course

Today's lesson is: "How Can I Apply Metaphysics to My Life."

When metaphysics is properly applied to your life, such things as health, wealth, and happiness will be yours. Most importantly, you must realize there is only a stream of wellness/ abundance (health, wealth, and happiness) that flows through you. You are either blocking or allowing this stream. So when you are experiencing wellness and abundance you are allowing it. And when you are experiencing a sad, gloomy reality, you are blocking that stream off. Again, health, wealth, and happiness are natural. The key is not in creating these things, but in allowing them to flow to you.

I have provided specific information and outlined some specific action steps you should take to manifest any of these three things (heath, wealth, and happiness) in your life:
I have also included an affirmation with each. Please feel free to use them how you wish. Personally I repeat certain affirmations about a thousand times a day. I do this silently, in my head, as I go about my day. You can also meditate on your chosen affirmation. Do whatever feels good to you, with these affirmations. They are not necessary, so you don't have to use them if you wish not to.

    1. Health- to experience health, you must realize that there is absolutely no reason for any part of your body to be unhealthy. Within every few months, you literally have a brand new physical body. Parts/ cells of our bodies are dying and being replaced with new healthy cells every couple of seconds. The only reason why you are unhealthy is because of your thoughts and beliefs. These continuously create unhealthy cells. Your body is simply a mirror of your beliefs.

Affirmation: My body's natural healing system is strong and pure, I allow the stream of health and wellness to flow through me.

If you are interested in health and well-being, or even if you just want more information, you should read the powerful, free book called
The Science of Being Well, click here. (if the link doesn't work, you can copy and paste it into your browser)

    2. Wealth- to experience wealth, you must get rid of any negative, preconceived ideas or associations regarding money. Such as, "money is the root of all evil" or "money doesn't grow on trees." You can do this by understanding that God (your Higher Self) wants you to be rich. If "He" didn't, you would not be reading this right now. I would go into more details on wealth, but I have already written a powerful article on it. You can access it here. (if the link doesn't work, you can copy and paste it into your browser)

After reading this article you need more information, you must read the free book, The Science of Getting Rich (if the link doesn't work, you can copy and paste it into your browser)

Affirmation: "I allow wealth to flow into me and out of me, I am a great receiver and giver of wealth." If this affirmation does not work for you, you could try the affirmation advised by Foster Hibbard, "An endless avalanche of money now pours down upon me!"

    3. Happiness- If you are experiencing health and wealth, there is really no reason for you to be unhappy. If you are unhappy, and in these conditions, the only reason is, because you are worrying about things that are beyond your control. You are probably trying to create/manipulate someone else's reality. It cannot be done, they must change it for themselves. This is the root of unhappiness. You must begin to stop worrying about things that you believe are beyond your control.

Affirmation: I am so grateful for everything in my life, I focus on the things I can change, and let go of the things I cannot. I am happy!

This has been a short lesson, because it is only the belief that matters. If you believe that you have whatever it is that you desire, you will absolutely achieve it, every time! You can make this more complicated if you wish. If you believe you must do a certain technique to achieve something, then you'd better do that technique. The choice is always yours.

Tomorrow we'll be wrapping up this course, with Day 7, we will be learning "What You Can/Should Do Now". Till then, may you enjoy infinite love and happiness.

    Metaphysics Course - Reality

Welcome to Day 5 of the "What Is Metaphysics" E-Course

Today's lesson: "What Is Reality and What Effect Do I Have On It?"

This question is at the heart of metaphysics.

The best definition I have heard for reality was by the entity, Joshiah, as channeled by my good friend, Bub Hill. Soon I will be adding this channeling session for free to my subscribers as one of the bonuses. When I do this, I will let you know by email, in my newsletter. Joshiah says that there are only three truisms to reality:

    1.You create your reality.

2.You are a Spark of Consciousness or You are a piece of the One

    3.You cannot fail.

'They' go on to say, you can make this more complicated if you wish, but these are the only things that are real. Everything else is illusionary. The way you make things more complicated is with your beliefs and ideas.

If this description does not work for you, another great answer I got to this question, "What is reality?" from one of my mentors, Dr. Yaad Dang was, a subjective perception of surroundings, which you create. This basically means that reality is simply the perception of the observer's reality. In other words, everyone perceives reality different in his or her own way (once again, mainly dependant on their beliefs). For example two people looking at the exact same scene will react differently (emotionally, mentally, and physiologically) and they will both explain the scene differently. Therefore nothing is real; everything is an illusion (except for the three things stated earlier by Joshiah). Again, in reality everything is an illusion, it's like a 3-D movie, but you are a part of it.

Your part in this movie is not only to experience it, but to also create it. You are the God you search for. Most metaphysicians believe in absolute free will. There is no destiny set forth for you; you create your own destiny as you go. Metaphysics puts everything squarely in your hands. You are the only and absolute creator of your reality.

However you must operate under certain laws, which you can change (although it would be very difficult depending on your belief system). But, before you came into existence in physical reality, you chose/agreed to operate under these universal laws. It's always your choice, if you didn't agree with these laws you would have created and/or experienced a different reality.

I have divided these Universal Laws into two categories, for easier understanding:
  • Scientifically Proven Laws- these are what we refer to as the 'laws of physics,' for example the Law of Gravity

  • Unscientifically Proven Laws- these are such metaphysical laws as the Law of Attraction. I have found the perfect article on Universal Laws, and instead of putting it into my own words, I will provide you with the original article.

  • You can access it here. (if the link doesn't work you can copy and paste it into the browser).

To be able to consciously create your reality you must first understand what reality is, then you must understand what the universal laws are that control the reality. This is what we have learned today, and from here you can begin to create your perfect life. This is what we will be talking about tomorrow in Day 6, Tomorrow's lesson will be: "How Can I Apply Metaphysics to My Life".

Till then, may you enjoy infinite love and happiness.

    Thank-You,

    Universal Life Church

    Hello ULC,

Welcome to Day 4 of the "What Is Metaphysics" E-Course

Today's Lesson is: "What Are The Basics of Metaphysics"

Yesterday, we discussed the broad range of topics covered by metaphysics. Today we will be talking about metaphysics' stance on these subjects.

First of all, we will discuss the concept of God. Metaphysics states that God is energy (light). God and energy mean the same thing. If you ask a metaphysician about God, he or she will say God is omnipotent, eternal, moving through form, into form, and out of form. If you ask a scientist what makes up the Universe, they will say, "energy." When you ask them what energy is, they will answer with omnipotent, eternal, moving through form, into form, and out of form. As you can see, it is the same thing; and, the difference lies solely in terminology.

Next, we are all made up of Energy, therefore we are God. Also, everything else is God, since everything else is made up of energy. If you break down anything, from humans to the computer you are reading this with, you will find it is made up of molecules. If you break the molecules down, you will get atoms. If you break atoms down, you will find a nucleus surrounded by a cloud of electrons. But, the nucleus is not even solid because if you break this down you will get protons and neutrons. These are surrounded by energy. Essentially, everything is composed of energy. Therefore, energy is everything and everywhere; and, this is why some people say, "God is everything and everywhere." On a related note, the God you search for is you ( more on this later).

In the area of occultism, it is a common belief among metaphysicians that ESP (extra sensory perception) abilities are natural. As I covered before, ESP includes such things as telepathy, clairvoyance, channeling, psychokinesis, and prophesizing the future. It has been said that we use less than 5% of the full potential of our brain. Once we tap into the unlimited potential of the mind, these abilities will become natural.

To develop your own metaphysical abilities you must begin to believe such things are possible and allow yourself to develop your powers. Once you believe it is possible, you can begin to practice these abilities. Do not give up, keep working harder, and you will begin to develop these abilities. Also, you should believe that it's easy to do, because then it will become easier. To cancel out thoughts of doubt, I find it very helpful to affirm, either in my head or out loud, to myself that "________ is very easy to do." Fill in the blank with whichever ability you wish to develop.

In the area of natural philosophy, metaphysics states that the view of nature and the physical universe, as it was before modern science, was correct. Science has made us think that we are separate from nature; this is why we exploit it, but actually we are deeply interconnected with it. Plants and animals do not think that they are separate from nature, they realize it is a part of them and they are a part of it. This is why they don't exploit nature, but rather live in harmony with it.

In the area of religion, metaphysicians can belong to all types of religions. As I have said many times before, the purpose of metaphysics is to compliment your current beliefs, and expand the limits of your limiting beliefs.

We will be going into full details on metaphysics' view of reality and your effect on it in Day 5. This is why we did not cover metaphysics' view on ontology and the philosophy of perception. I look forward to talking to you tomorrow in Day 4 of this course. As you may have already guessed, tomorrow's lesson will be "What Is Reality and What Effect Do I Have on It?" Till then, may you enjoy infinite love and happiness.

Metaphysics Course on What Metaphysics Covers

Welcome to Day 3 of the "What Is Metaphysics" E-Course

Today's Lesson: "What Does Metaphysics Actually Cover?"

Metaphysics usually refers to two seemingly separate, even contradicting subjects:
      1. Mysticism which refers to experiences of unity with God or All-That-Is.

      2. Occultism which refers to the extension of knowing (ESP, which is telepathy, clairvoyance, channeling, etc.) beyond the usually recognized fields of human activity.

For a more in depth view of what metaphysics entails, there are five basic sub disciplines that make up 'metaphysics':
      1. Natural Philosophy: a term applied to the objective study of nature and the physical universe, as it was before the development of modern science.

2.Ontology: the study of being and existence. In other words, ontology is the study of reality. This is one of the most fundamental branches of metaphysics. Its purpose is to define entities and types of entities within its framework.

3.Philosophy of Religion: the rational study of the meaning and justification of fundamental religious claims, particularly about the nature and existence of God.

4.Philosophy of Mind: the philosophical study of the mind, mental events, mental functions, mental properties, and consciousness. In addition, this includes the "mind-body" connection, which is the relationship with the physical body and the things listed above. The mind refers to the collective aspects of intelligence and consciousness, which are manifest in some combination of thought, perception, emotion, will, memory, and imagination. Currently, the majority of scientists believe that the mind is a result of the brain. But metaphysicians would argue that the brain is actually a result of the mind.

5.Philosophy of Perception: the study of how mental processes and symbols depend on the world internal and external to the perceiver. What is experienced or observed is always confined to the beliefs and limits of the observer.

I know today's lesson was very technical, but I believe it is important for you to understand what the study of metaphysics actually consists in. So there really are no action steps for today, other than understanding the topics above. Tomorrow in Day 4 we will be going into details on metaphysics' position on each of these topics.

I look forward to talking to you tomorrow, in Day 4, the lesson will be "The Basics of Metaphysics." Till then, may you enjoy infinite love and happiness.

Metaphysical Discussion - What is it?

Welcome to Day 2 of the "What Is Metaphysics"

Today's Lesson is: "Why Should I Care About Metaphysics?"

There could be many different answers to this question, why should I study metaphysics. I have written about the main ones below, and this leads me to today's action step. Today's action step is for you to discover your reason for studying metaphysics. Maybe your reason is some deep question you need answered or you need to help someone else. Whatever your reason, it must be definite, it must be valid, and it must resonate with your heart. Only then, will you enjoy metaphysics and then you will be able to uncover the desired outcome to your quest for knowledge.

When Jon Roe was asked, this question, why study metaphysics? He replied, "If life is going great, you're healthy, happy and content, you don't need it. If you have a solid belief system that will support you through the bad times, you don't need it. If you have good self-esteem and you unconditionally love yourself, you don't need it. If you find peace and support your religion and spirituality you don't need it."

As you may have probably guessed, since I directly quoted him, I completely agree with him.

So the main reasons, listed in no particular order, why people study metaphysics are:

  • to obtain a strong, belief system that completely resonates with you

  • to gain comfort in trying/challenging times in your life

  • to have no more fears, in other words, to obtain peace of mind (as you will be able to understand the true nature of reality)

  • to find an answer to those tough, life-transforming questions that are in the back of everyone's mind, such as, What is the meaning of life? How did I get here? Where did I come from? What is my purpose? Etc…

  • to understand and experience God

  • to enjoy the health, wealth, and happiness applying this knowledge can give you

  • to gain a new perspective on the world and life, that you may have never considered, it is a new way to think outside the box

  • to begin to fulfill your unlimited potential

  • Study this list, and discover the one that fits for you. If none of these does, than you can come up with your own. I look forward to talking to you tomorrow in Day 3; the lesson will be "What Does Metaphysics Actually Cover." Till then, may you enjoy infinite love and happiness.

Metaphysics Course - What is Metaphysics

Welcome to Day 1 of the "What Is Metaphysics" E-Course.

Today's lesson is: "What exactly is Metaphysics?

Metaphysics refers to the branch of philosophy that attempts to understand the fundamental nature of all reality, whether physical or non-physical. It seeks a description so basic, so essentially simple, and so all-inclusive, that it applies to everything.

A metaphysician is someone who studies the true nature of reality, or someone who is simply interested in discovering what underlies everything.

People are always getting confused between spirituality, metaphysics, and quantum physics. Even I, myself, sometimes use these words interchangeably. Spirituality is the process of becoming closer to the God that you are, whether you realize you are that God or not. Spirituality is all about becoming closer to your soul, that spark of consciousness, or piece of the One that is within all of us. The downside of the word spirituality is it is closely associated with religions. Religions can be very limiting, because they have a set system of beliefs which you are not to question or expand upon. Don't get me wrong, they can also be empowering, it really depends on the person. Metaphysics is very closely related to spirituality, but it has nothing to do with any religion. It is more to develop you own set of personal beliefs, which resonate with you, then to follow somebody else's beliefs. Therefore metaphysics does not have all the limits and associations that spiritualit y has.

Metaphysics is not really a science, but the science most closely related to metaphysics is quantum physics. Quantum physics is the leading edge science that is scientifically proving timeless metaphysical principles. Quantum physics is the "physics of possibilities". It is believed that quantum physics is where metaphysics and physics will merge.

Lastly, it is believed that the word "metaphysics" is based on the organization of some of Aristotle's books in the Library of Alexandria. The ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle produced a number of works, which together were called the "Physics." In the Library of Alexandria, the works of Aristotle were organized in such a way that another set of Aristotle's works was placed right after the "Physics." These books seemed to concern a basic, fundamental area of philosophical inquiry, which Aristotle, himself, called "first philosophy." So early Aristotelian scholars called those books ta meta ta physika biblia, which means "the books that come after the (books about) physics." This is simply where the word came from, but the timeless principles studied in metaphysics originate back before history even, as you will soon come to learn.

I look forward to talking to you tomorrow, in Day 2; tomorrow's lesson will be "Why Should I Study Metaphysics." Till then, may you enjoy infinite love and happiness.

Spirit Quest Course by Travis Richardson

Final Essay for the Spirit Quest Course
    By Travis Richardson
This was indeed a very interesting course to take; each lesson brought forth different and at times puzzling concepts to understand.  But it is in this journey of attempting to understand the differences of the paths another person walks along that greater appreciation and greater understanding is gifted onto me.  I see that there are many shared concepts that I have also explored to further my own growth and evolution. The gracious addition of you sharing how these concepts were applied to your individual life added to the enjoyment of the lessons at hand.

The concept of Baby Beings I have not heard of before and it took me some time to become accepting of this concept as a possibility, over that of merely an overactive imagination in the respect of it being not merely being someone applying a far-fetched imagination based idea to a life event. Then I thought to myself who am I to comment on what another individual uses to explain things that happen in their lives when I am not living their life. If a person finds answers or solace in what I perceive as an imagination based concept and it helps them grow as an individual then is there really any harm in this.

There are many forms of intelligence and many great things come from those various intelligences, just because I am lacking in fully understanding a particular thought or concept of one aspect of one particular type of intelligence does not make that thought or the concept wrong. The concept of Spirituality is an individual path a person walks; it is not easily grouped or applicable to a structured environment simply because individuals are distinctly different from each other. Granted there are many similarities that individual human beings share in, but the mind and consciousness is distinct to the individual.

My own growth and evolution is a hard one to grasp by many people. There is a notable perceive lack of acceptance sprung forth by a lack of understanding of traumatic brain injuries. My injury was the result of a motor vehicle accident where my head struck the driver’s door pillar as well as shattering the driver’s door window. The double impact to the left side of my brain in two areas was also felt on the right side of my brain when the recoil of the impact slammed my brain up against the right side of my skull.  In my particular situation the temporal and the frontal lobes were affected.

The temporal lobe is a region of the cerebral cortex that is located beneath the Sylvian fissure on both the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

The temporal lobe is involved in auditory processing and is home to the primary auditory cortex. It is also important for the processing of semantics in both speech and vision. The temporal lobe contains the hippocampus and plays a key role in the formation of long-term memory.

Temporal Lobes: side of head above ears
    ·       Difficulty in recognizing faces.
    ·       Difficulty in understanding spoken words.
    ·       Disturbance with selective attention to what we see and hear.
    ·       Difficulty with identification of, and verbalization about objects.
    ·       Short term memory loss.
    ·       Interference with long term memory.
    ·       Increased and decreased interest in sexual behaviour.
    ·       Inability to categorize objects.
    ·       Right lobe damage can cause persistent talking.
    ·       Increased aggressive behaviour.

    Frontal Lobe: Forehead
    ·       Loss of simple movement of various body parts.
    ·       Inability to plan a sequence of complex movements needed to complete multi-stepped tasks, such as making coffee.
    ·       Loss of spontaneity in interacting with others.
    ·       Loss of flexibility in thinking.
    ·       Persistence of a single thought.
    ·       Inability to focus on task.
    ·       Mood changes.
    ·       Changes in social behaviour.
    ·       Changes in personality.
    ·       Difficulty with problem solving.
    ·       Inability to express language.

Exploring this information gave me a great starting point. It also confirmed to me that I was not actually nuts or crazy. My cognitive functions were just simply altered and I had to discover new ways of making the pieces fit. To this day there are aspects that I am working on and will more than likely struggle with for the rest of my life.

I have what is called "Acquired Expressive Language Disorder". This is a situation to where I am challenged in putting sentences together coherently, using proper grammar, recalling the appropriate word to use in what is considered "Acceptable” by societal standards. The only way to overcome this situation is by actually engaging in conversations and rebuilding the ability to effectively communicate. But this is where yet another difficulty lies, we live in a society and a culture that wants instant answers, instant replies and instant gratifications. Finding someone to communicate with who understands and is patient is a huge challenge. I am often dismissed or outright ignored when it comes to chatting or communicating verbally.

All because one individual choose to not obey traffic laws and stop for a red light. However, if it were not for that individual, this essay would have never been written, and I would not be having this honour of opening your eyes just a little bit more.

Getting back to the essay at hand many of the concepts shared in this course I have also explored, Karma being one of them, Self Awareness, meditation, and so forth. All of which are tools an individual can use to further understand not only themselves but those in their life. If the goal is to become the best possible person one can be, then what does it truly matter which path a person takes to achieve this goal. What works for one person may just not work for another.
