As individuals we exist at a dual interface between non-local and local reality. Nonlocal reality exists within the empty spaces between your cells; local reality results from the perception of physical forms. Non-local reality, which is essentially nothing, is the Source of all creation (including physical reality). Remember, emptiness must exist to allow the space required for creation to arise. Obviously, this non-local reality, if it even exists, is much harder to dissect and study than the material world. Therefore, for the most part, it has been ignored by science. Scientific thinking is concerned with the physical creation, or the local—material—side to reality. On the other hand, meditation is fundamentally concerned with the Creator or the nonlocal—internal—processes underlying physical reality. Meditation is the only practice I know of that provides access to the non-local side to reality. By going deep within oneself, on a regular basis, it is possible to learn how to interact with immaterial forms of knowingness. Meditation is a powerful tool for divination and for strengthening one's intuition. Intuition can be explained as a manifestation of the nonlocal awareness encompassing or interconnecting material reality. As you connect deeper with your Source, your intuition strengthens. Meditation is a simple practice through which you can work your metaphysical muscles each day. Here are three highly-recommended, science-based articles which promote meditation as a tool for personal transformation: 1. Even Beginners can Curb Pain with Meditation 2. Meditation Neuroimaging Study: Eight Weeks to a Better Brain 3. Why teens addict: The elusive search for happiness I really hope you make time to read these informative writings, and please feel encouraged to pass these on to your loved ones. Meditation must become (or remain) an integral part of your life if you wish to discover the meaning behind spirituality. Soar with the Divine! Jason |

Spirit Quest Course by Travis Richardson
Final Essay for the Spirit Quest Course
By Travis Richardson
This was indeed a very interesting course to take; each lesson brought forth different and at times puzzling concepts to understand. But it is in this journey of attempting to understand the differences of the paths another person walks along that greater appreciation and greater understanding is gifted onto me. I see that there are many shared concepts that I have also explored to further my own growth and evolution. The gracious addition of you sharing how these concepts were applied to your individual life added to the enjoyment of the lessons at hand.
The concept of Baby Beings I have not heard of before and it took me some time to become accepting of this concept as a possibility, over that of merely an overactive imagination in the respect of it being not merely being someone applying a far-fetched imagination based idea to a life event. Then I thought to myself who am I to comment on what another individual uses to explain things that happen in their lives when I am not living their life. If a person finds answers or solace in what I perceive as an imagination based concept and it helps them grow as an individual then is there really any harm in this.
There are many forms of intelligence and many great things come from those various intelligences, just because I am lacking in fully understanding a particular thought or concept of one aspect of one particular type of intelligence does not make that thought or the concept wrong. The concept of Spirituality is an individual path a person walks; it is not easily grouped or applicable to a structured environment simply because individuals are distinctly different from each other. Granted there are many similarities that individual human beings share in, but the mind and consciousness is distinct to the individual.
My own growth and evolution is a hard one to grasp by many people. There is a notable perceive lack of acceptance sprung forth by a lack of understanding of traumatic brain injuries. My injury was the result of a motor vehicle accident where my head struck the driver’s door pillar as well as shattering the driver’s door window. The double impact to the left side of my brain in two areas was also felt on the right side of my brain when the recoil of the impact slammed my brain up against the right side of my skull. In my particular situation the temporal and the frontal lobes were affected.
The temporal lobe is a region of the cerebral cortex that is located beneath the Sylvian fissure on both the left and right hemispheres of the brain.
The temporal lobe is involved in auditory processing and is home to the primary auditory cortex. It is also important for the processing of semantics in both speech and vision. The temporal lobe contains the hippocampus and plays a key role in the formation of long-term memory.
Temporal Lobes: side of head above ears
· Difficulty in recognizing faces.
· Difficulty in understanding spoken words.
· Disturbance with selective attention to what we see and hear.
· Difficulty with identification of, and verbalization about objects.
· Short term memory loss.
· Interference with long term memory.
· Increased and decreased interest in sexual behaviour.
· Inability to categorize objects.
· Right lobe damage can cause persistent talking.
· Increased aggressive behaviour.
Frontal Lobe: Forehead
· Loss of simple movement of various body parts.
· Inability to plan a sequence of complex movements needed to complete multi-stepped tasks, such as making coffee.
· Loss of spontaneity in interacting with others.
· Loss of flexibility in thinking.
· Persistence of a single thought.
· Inability to focus on task.
· Mood changes.
· Changes in social behaviour.
· Changes in personality.
· Difficulty with problem solving.
· Inability to express language.
Exploring this information gave me a great starting point. It also confirmed to me that I was not actually nuts or crazy. My cognitive functions were just simply altered and I had to discover new ways of making the pieces fit. To this day there are aspects that I am working on and will more than likely struggle with for the rest of my life.
I have what is called "Acquired Expressive Language Disorder". This is a situation to where I am challenged in putting sentences together coherently, using proper grammar, recalling the appropriate word to use in what is considered "Acceptable” by societal standards. The only way to overcome this situation is by actually engaging in conversations and rebuilding the ability to effectively communicate. But this is where yet another difficulty lies, we live in a society and a culture that wants instant answers, instant replies and instant gratifications. Finding someone to communicate with who understands and is patient is a huge challenge. I am often dismissed or outright ignored when it comes to chatting or communicating verbally.
All because one individual choose to not obey traffic laws and stop for a red light. However, if it were not for that individual, this essay would have never been written, and I would not be having this honour of opening your eyes just a little bit more.
Getting back to the essay at hand many of the concepts shared in this course I have also explored, Karma being one of them, Self Awareness, meditation, and so forth. All of which are tools an individual can use to further understand not only themselves but those in their life. If the goal is to become the best possible person one can be, then what does it truly matter which path a person takes to achieve this goal. What works for one person may just not work for another.

Spirit Quest Course by Robert Robinson
Final Essay from the Spirit Quest Course

So the course is finished and the quest is just begun. In this one course I have found the answers to several questions that have plagued me for ages. The first being, how big of a spirit am I? The answer is, that I am boundless. The only limits imposed on me come from the agreements that I make. The decisions that I make as a being have only to do with what I have learned as a spirit. I as spirit, am not bound by the laws of the physical world. This is not just a platitude. I have investigated many "isms" in my life and nowhere have I found the keys that have been given me on this course. Just by practicing a few of the precepts, I have seen things that have been blocking me for my entire life just blown away. Instead of barriers, I am finding opportunities every day. These include, Financial Opportunities as well as personal. I have found that my friendships are deeper and communication is much easier. My ability to see another's point of view has grown exponentially.
As a matter of fact, friends at work call me "the defender" because I am always able to see the good in almost everyone. This is because I always look for the spirit instead of just looking at the physical person. This way, I also know who I can trust. I have been able to open myself to being loved and to be able to love others. This is a problem that has truly been with me my entire life. I have been able to root out the decisions that caused them and been able to banish them. Using the Roses to bring in the good and destroy the bad is nothing less than inspired. Amy, I have no idea how you discovered this but I am here to tell you that it works! Thanks to Rev. Amy Long and the Universal Life Church Seminary my life is on a whole new track. If anyone has not taken this course I would urge them to do it right away. Finally, I would like to say that through this course, I have discovered that God truly created me in His image. I am on to the next course.

Spirit Quest Course
When I began this class, I wasn't too certain about how I'd feel about it… Personally, I'm a very practical person and very private and it has taken me a long time to admit to and share my inner feelings. However, I noticed that as Iwent through the course, I “warmed up to it” and I must admit that it has been quite an eye-opener for me personally.
There were many things I learned that I had been previously familiar with and had even practiced in some form of another, but the class has given me a way to put it all together in one place and to put it into practical use.
Early on in the course when beginning to practice the tools, sitting quietly and attaching a grounding cord, I spent a lot of time on that. I found out a really funny experience: I’m traveling by plane a lot, and even when I’m in the plane, I am able to attach the grounding cord going to the center of the earth. First I thought that would not be possible but it felt quite naturally, even at 30,000 feet going fast.
Later I added another technique: Wherever I am, I first picture myself sitting quietly in my living room. Then from that position I attach my grounding cord and go through the exercises.
“Getting what you want” and “Creating your own reality” were also exercises that kind of came naturally. I have believed in those concepts for a long time, but this course has structured it for me.
On a side note, my stepdaughter is a chiropractor and practices Applied Kinesiology. It has become more clear to me now how that all come together. She has one test she performs regularly on her patients (and on myself and my wife) where she puts pressure on the stretched out arm while letting the person taste several spices and foods. This way she can determine what the body is allergic to. Very similar to the tests in this course.
When the subject turned to spirit communications I became a little wary… I personally found that subject a little scary. My wife is very perceptive to “the spirit world” and after several “encounters” early on in life which were not very pleasant she turns it off. But going through the course it turned out not to be “scary” at all, as I was afraid of initially.
Over the years I have philosophized quite a bit about “the afterlife” and what happens to us. I believe that we all remain as spirits (remaining energy) in some virtual world (in which you would create your own heaven or hell), and where the strong spirits can communicate with our world.
All and all this turned out to be a great course with many tools which can be used from now on (and be used better over time). I also loved the positive message being used throughout.
Thank you!
